Young Investigator Workshop 2024 – 16-17th of December
The Young Investigator Workshop 2024 (focussing on Clinical and Translational Research) was on the 16-17th of December 2024 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

This workshop aims to foster international networking between participants as well as internationally recognized experts in the field, and to showcase the latest in clinical and translational research. The event will be focused on young investigators working in the PSC and broader autoimmune/cholestatic liver disease space.
The workshop focus was on means to progress your research ideas through improved understanding of:
- Disease epidemiology and developing natural history studies
- Clinical trials, their limitations in rare diseases, and how to overcome these.
- Risk score and biomarker development, in a bid to personalise the management of patients and improve clinical outcomes
- The role of patient reported outcomes in guiding research that is meaningful to patients and targets their areas of unmet need

IPSCSG meeting in Stockholm – 9-10 September 2024
International PSC Study Group (IPSCSG), in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, Stockholm Sweden, arranges the IPSCSG meeting with the aim to increase interactions between researchers in the PSC field to move the field forward. Young Investigator Workshop on Basic Science and Translational immunology in PSC
In order to motivate and engage young scientists into research on the pathogenesis and treatment of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), the International PSC Study Group (IPSCSG) together with the European Reference Network on Hepatological Diseases (ERN RARE-LIVER) and the Clinical Research Unit 306 (CRU 306), Hamburg, will host a workshop on basic science and translational immunology in PSC research. The Liver Meeting
The IPSCSG meeting at AASLD’s Liver Meeting in San Francisco took place on Sunday 11th November 2018

The International PSC Study Group meeting
The 5th biennial meeting took place on 18-19 June in Paris this year.
International Liver Congress
The spring’s International PSC Study Group meeting 2018 took place at The International Liver Congress arranged by European Ascociaton for Study of the Liver in Paris Thursday morning April 12th, 09:30-11:30 hr, in meeting room WEST3 at the ILC venue.

The Liver Meeting
The IPSCSG meeting at AASLD’s Liver Meeting in Washington took place on Monday October 23rd 2017, from 12:30 till 02:30, in the Union Station Room at the Marriott Marquis.
International Liver Congress
The International PSC Study Group had a meeting at the International Liver Congress arranged by the Europeean Assocition for the Study of the Liver’s (EASL) annual meeting in Amsterdam on Saturdag April 22nd 2017, at 14:00-16:00.

2nd MRI Workshop in Hamburg-Eppendorf
This second MRI Workshop took place at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf on Monday, September 26th this year.
Biennial IPSCSG meeting in Yale
The 4th biennial International PSC Study Group Workshop was organized by and carried out at Yale Medical Center on June 25th – 27th this year. The meeting was also part of the PSC Partners Seeking a Cure patient conference with one joint session of the two organizations.
More than 100 clinicians and scientists from all over the world working on PSC and related diseases were together to discuss the latest achievements in the field. Two keynote lectures addressed the issues of microbiota and biliary diseases respectively while six break-out sessions shed light on i) animal and cellular models and pathophysiology, ii) disease (natural) history, iii) patient reported outcomes, iv) biomarkers, v) imaging and vi) malignancy studies. You find the programme of the meeting here.
Steps were taken to establish joint studies to solve above challenges. New working groups are under establishment and will be finalized during the next IPSCSG meeting in connection with the annual AASLD conference in November.
The meeting also witnessed the presentation of the first IPSCSG Accomplishment Award to Kirsten Boonstra from Spaarne Gasthuis Haarlem, The Netherlands.

EASL Hepatology Conference in Barcelona
This year’s first meeting was carried out in Barcelona on April 14th within the framework of the EASL Hepatology Conference.
2015
1st meeting of the IPSCSG MRI working group October 2015
On October 19th around 25 attendees from over 12 IPSCSG-associated centers around the world joined the 1st MRI workshop of the IPSCSG held in Hamburg, Germany. Ongoing research studies on MRI in PSC were presented during the meeting, and the workshop particularly addressed the clinical need and the areas of uncertainty of MRI in PSC. Therefore, a major aim of the workshop was to define areas of research and to define a standard with respect to MRI in PSC.
